Costs
Capitalism and the systems we are all stuck in are a..problem..to say the least. This is the best way I have found to make costs equitable for everyone to the best of my ability.
Individual Sessions:
Private pay: $175 per individual session.
Insurance is not accepted and I am not an out of network provider. This is for many reasons, and allows me to have greater availability for those who are in greater need. See the FAQ page for more information and pros and cons for using insurance.
Accessibility and equitable cost are very important to me. For that reason, the “ bottle method” is used to determine your fee. You do not have to prove it with showing any documents - it is based on the honor system. However, full-fee and higher-fee spots allow others to access to lower fee spots, as an important distinction. Here is a quick break-down:
Full Bottle: That means you can comfortably meet all needs which include food, housing, and transportation, own a home or rent a higher end place, may have some debt, but it does not stop you from affording basic needs, you may own or lease a car, you are employed or do not need to work to meet your needs, have regular access to care, have access to financial savings, can always buy new items when needed, and can afford to take annual vacations or time off when needed, as some examples. These folx land in the full-fee spot of $175.
Half-full bottle: You may stress about meeting basic needs, but still regularly achieve them, may have some debt but it does not stop you from affording what you need, you may own or lease a car but struggle to afford gas or maintenance, be employed, have access to health care, have some access to financial savings, sudden surprise costs like car maintenance makes affording basic needs difficult but not impossible, have minimal expendable income, and can take a vacation every few years without financial burden. These folx land at $125.
A quarter filled bottle: You may frequently stress about meeting basic needs and aren’t always able to, have debt and it sometimes prohibits affording basic needs, have unstable housing for any reason, are chronically ill which impedes your ability to afford basic needs, do not have a car or have limited access to a car, but not always able to afford gas, are unemployed or underemployed, qualify for government assistance including SNAP and health care, have no savings, no or very limited expendable income, rarely buy new items due to cost, or cannot afford a vacation or have the ability to take time off without financial burden. These folx land at $70.
Reach out if you have questions or want to discuss your needs if your ‘bottle’ is on empty.
Group Sessions:
Between $50-100, depending on the same method above. Full-bottle folx are full fee at $100 per group, half-full bottle is $75, and quarter-filled bottle is $50. Most groups run every other week.
Consultations and Trainings:
Costs are based on your needs, including amount of hours needed. Reach out to discuss further.
Paperwork:
FMLA and Short-term disability initial paperwork is completed during session. If there is additional information needed with claims, which cannot be completed in session, $100/hour fee applies.
Gender Affirming Surgery letters: Always free - always. Completed on first-come-first-serve basis with 2 spots available per month.
Good Faith Estimate:
Under federal law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the cost of your services. If you schedule sessions with me, you can request a written estimate of the expected charges. This helps you plan for therapy costs and understand your financial responsibility.
