About Me
Hi, Welcome in! I’m Sage Stevens MSW, LSW (they/them) a non-binary, AuDHD, and disabled therapist. If you’ve ever felt like an outcast due to the intersection of your identities, you are not alone. I help adults navigate trauma, anxiety, ADHD, identity stress, and the messiness of life using IFS, DBT, ACT, and somatic techniques. Therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and judgment-free — no masks needed — along with a healthy dose of humor. It takes a ton of courage to reach out and start, or re-start, your mental health journey. I’m glad you’re here.
Fun fact: I started an animal rescue, which inspires how I bring care and connection into every session and fuels my passion for preventing burnout - it’s actually what lit a fire in me to become a therapist. My senior rescue pup, Journey, is below, and of course a significant reason for the name of the practice! Outside of the virtual therapy room, I enjoy painting, dancing, attempting to organize life in my planner, and reading.

They have a denim button-down shirt and are standing in front of their wooden bookcase. In the background, a painting they created is located on the top shelf, with a blue and silver multicolor sky, black background, and 3 flowers of yellow, pink, and red.
My Experience
I have spent over a decade in crisis work supporting LGBTQ+ youth and adults as well as those navigating disordered eating, self-harm, religious trauma, OCD, PTSD, Autism, and ADHD. I hold an additional certification in ADHD, earned my LSW, and will be fully licensed soon. I am currently under supervision with Kai Thigpen, LCSW and Christine Bergman, LCSW.
The start of the pandemic gave way to virtual therapy and support groups - and I was awarded Facilitator of the Year 2021 for my work in the community together with NAMI. That also means I have experience in helping you troubleshoot any technical issues that arise, and we always have backup plans if tech decides it doesn’t want to work that day!

What to Expect in Therapy
Therapy with me is flexible and tailored to you. I use evidence-based approaches like Internal Family Systems, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Somatic techniques to improve coping, emotional regulation, and self-awareness. Art, movement, or other creative approaches may be incorporated when it feels right for you. We create therapy goals together, check-in to determine changes (or not) in symptoms, and I encourage feedback so we can stick to a plan that is working for you and shift gears if we need to as well.
